July 2025 Writing Update

Oh, this? This is definitely not like 9 days late. No siree, not at all. This is defintely not being posted almost halfway through the month of July. Could NOT be me. Please ignore the date this blog post is marked with.

Anyway? What’s been doing with me? Same old, same old. I am in about page 50 of a screenplay version of my whodunit. I am sort of using this to plot my way through its next rewrite. It’s fun and fast, and this way I can get all the crucial elements of the plot, as well as the flow of each individual scene or sequence, on the page with the most relevant details. Plus, the screenplay is a lot easier to chunk away at than the novel itself, especially when I am simultaneously spending my nights trying to learn Python now. Damn career aspirations.

In regards to the whole horror story, that’s still coming along, too. Though it’s slower going, again on account of the Python learning taking up my time now, too. But, I still try to carve out a couple hours a week for writing this and keeping the story fresh in my mind. I say I’m anywhere between 30-40% through the narrative at this point, and I’ve cracked 100 pages on the first draft, so that’s cool. It’s been a ton of fun to linger and draw out what are meant to be the more intense, suspenseful, and unsettling scenes in the story. Here’s hoping they actually land with the vibe I’m going for, though.

Anyway, see you in LESS THAN a month for the August update.
