August 2026 Review

Does doing one and a half reviews in a month count? If so, good news for me. If not, I’m linking my review of The Odyssey here anyway because the other thing I am cooking up isn’t quite finished yet. But, hey, a podcast discussion on The Odyssey is on the horizon! A draft of it is actually exporting as I am typing this very paragraph. I’m excited about it. It was interesting to lead a discussion around the film with some close friends of mine. To boot, I thought we had some surprisingly interesting takes on the film. Certainly some things which were more insightful than the average commentary in a podcast (though given what the “average” is in the podcast world perhaps this is not saying very much).

Anyway, until I become a lazy podcaster who cannot be bothered to edit video, enjoy this review of The Odyssey on my YouTube channel. I talk about the film’s themes, what makes it so enthralling from a filmmaking perspective, and a lot of its other great aspects.
