June 2026 Writing Update

Welp. Still no readers committed for the full beta. But I did get some volunteers for chunks of it. So that’s some progress, at least. Beyond that, I’ve been pouring over the screenplay side of the feedback to see where I can lean things out in a second draft. Overall it seems like I need to make some intentions and characterizations clearer in the first half of the story, and maybe condense or distill some moments in the narrative’s back half. But, in all, I think I came up with a solid chunk of changes that can get the next reader feeling how I would want them to feel and reacting to the story in the way I would want them to react.

Also realized that, despite all my trimming, there are still remnants of other plot-lines in certain scenes when said plot-lines have been entirely removed from the script! Oops. But, I suppose that’s easy editing on the bright side.

Back to the grindstone.
