September 2025 Writing Update
So that whole life pause I did for the whodunit screenplay turned out to be maybe a bad idea but also maybe a pretty good one. I’ve more or less only touched that story when the ideas have popped into my head organically, and haven’t really pursued it much in the meantime. So it’s not very many pages further along, but I feel like my additions to this back half of the script are a lot more intentional and measured. However, there’s the issue of memory. Detail is everything in that kind of story, and while it’s nice to let your mind breathe and give it time to develop solutions and progressions naturally, that same time can also make it less alert to the very details you need to nail down for a mystery to work.
On the horror front, I’m in a decent place with that. I’d love to have it finished by the end of this month (crazy ambitious quite frankly) and then spend October giving it a re-pass in time to get it somewhat respectable and ready by Halloween. Well, I’m committing to it, so I guess now I’ve got to do it.
Come back in a month to see if my ambitions were bigger than my fingers / keyboard, I guess.
