November 2025 Writing Update

I FINISHED! Wow. Was a little worried I would have to put out another blog post of shame and misery. Going into National Novel Writing Month as well. Would not have been an optimized look for me. Anyway, clocking in at 151,000 words, this novel took me just about SEVEN MONTHS to write. It was not entirely consistent, and honestly I fell off the wagon at some points (as you would notice with the content of my “Writing Update” blog posts), but I did it. And now that means…I get to do it again? Yay?

Or, I will get to do it again on Monday. The goal for NNWM is to fully read through my first draft. At 42 Chapters in total, that’s going to equate to some heavy days. But, hey, I will be rewarding myself with a fun screenplay when I can. It’s pretty light and comedic, and a refining/retread of an idea for a film that’s been stuck in my head since about my freshman year of college. So, it’s something I’m quite familiar and fond of. Will be a nice break from the editing to turn back to that sort of thing, I imagine.

Or, you know, I just won’t have the energy for it after reading an average of 5,000 (JESUS FIVE THOUSAND WHAT AM I DOING TO MYSELF HERE?) words per day.

Yeah. Think I am going to need to trim this one down a bit. That Google Docs page count was a very misleading representation of how long this thing became. What size font was a I using? Good Lord…
